Hi

I would like to  know if there is a rule of thumb, when it comes to draping a scarf over a curtain rod – is it 1 and ½ times the width of the window?

Should the scarf drape halfway down the sides equally?

I’d appreciate any guidelines for window dressing with scarves.

Thank you!

This might help...... http://www.window-treatments-made-easy.com/make-scarf-swags.html or this http://www.seweasywindows.com/articles/article_scarfswag.html

Alternatively if you can get hold of a copy of Maureen Whitemore's book Home Furnishings Workbook she shows how to create a swag effect on a pole using voile and elastic bands
