Hi and Happy New Year to you all.  I have been asked to make a few roman blinds....however the blinds will be fitted on a terrace that faces the hot Spanish sun all day and I am concerned that the fabric will rot quite quickly if I use normal lining. have any of you used lining that is suitable for protecting the fabric from the sun and heat? Obviously these blinds are an investment and the client doesn't want to have to replace them in a years time!

Hi Pom

If you use 50% poly and 50% cotton linings, that should protect your blind from the sunlight. I can't think of anything else. good luck.

You might want to consider using a fabric that is intended for outdoor use that is more resistant to sunlight etc.  Various people supply it, for example KA International (web site currently undergoing re-vamp), Sailcloth  http://www.sailcloth.co.uk/ a US company Housefabric ship internationally http://www.housefabric.com/categoryview.asp?CategoryID=117&gclid=CM_7-ayX95cCFUse3god7XQJCw
