please can you help, i have a curved bay lounge window which i don't know what to do with. it has five windows and at present has a pelmet which i want to lose as is old fashioned. the problem is that the sill protrudes and so full length curtains would look rather silly as they would come down on an angle.
do you have any ideas ?

If you don't want a pelmet you could still have full length curtains by fitting your pole directly onto the ceiling - Or go for roman blinds.

Hi there I have just moved into a round bay windowed semi this year and hung my full length curtains when I moved in on some new sologlyde tracking which will curve round the bay. I have the same problem with the curtains leaning because of the sill sticking out.

So we have bought (yesterday!!) some fineline trackiing that has extension brackets - these are not just for pelmets but for hanging up to 'heavy' curtains from.  My neighbour said that when she attached the tracking to her ceiling it comes away occassionally!!

I used to be a soft furnisher working from home when the children were small so I will mess on until things are right!! I will let you know how well the fineline tracking goes. It wasnt a cheap option but is worth it if it works.

I was lucky in the upstairs bay as years ago someone has painstakingly fitted and cut wood around the bay ceiling meaning that tracking can be fixed properly to it. The sologlyde is being moved upstairs this am! and there is only a thin windowsill in that room. Just found this site whilst trying to refresh my memory on making a piping bag!

If you purchase a curtain pole with wall fitted extension brackets there would not be a problem in getting a curtain pole bent to fit.  If you are ceiling fixing your pole then you can make sure the pole projects the same as your windowsill.  Then your curtains can be full length and they will sit in front of the windowsill.  The projection of the pole does not have to be exactly the saem as you windowsill.  But the further away from the wall the better. Silent Gliss do wall fixed brackets to 100mm

Full length curtains are far better than sill length as sill length curtains visually chop the room in half. Not so good
