Hi, I have just finished making a Roman Blind 175 x 210cm long. It is also lined with Blackout lining and this has made it quite heavy. The kit I have used is one I always use and have been very happy with but due to the sheer weight of this blind it is finding it difficult to pull up and down and also the pleats are not folding they need help on each fold. does anybody have any suggestions?

Hi Mandy I would suggest a roman blind track with a side winding mechanism for your blind, and at least 5 corded points at the back of the blind. With this size and width I'd also suggest either wooden dowels or aluminum rods rather than fibre glass. A luxury tracking system will hold around 6.5kgs in weight. It's a very large blind and I'd imagine the weight to be heavy. You may find you'll have to change for a basic strong corded batten and cleat and thicker cords. tracking is up for discussion at http://my.decozo.com forum.
