I once made a horizontal seam and hid it in the dowel casing. This was done in the lining of the blind and not the blind itself. I encountered two difficulties - (1) the stitching on the seam made the lining shrink even though I used a big stitch; (2) more allowance in the dowel casing is required. Next time I will not join lining pieces together in this way! And I will certainly not do this on the fabric itself!
